Jacob & Co. Astronomia Tourbillon

On the first day of 2017, I would like to present to you one of the most spectacular watches I have ever seen – Jacob & Co’s Astronomia Tourbillon.

Before I get into the information on this stellar beast, I would like to invite you, if possible, to meet this watch. You will never regret it.

The first version has an 18K rose gold case measuring 50mm in diameter and 25mm thick with sapphire apertures on the sides for clear visibility. The case back is wound and time-setting via two 18K rose gold liftable and rotating ‘bows’. The sky layer is made of pure aventurine and 18K rose gold. The top crystal is a specially domed anti-reflective treated sapphire.

Visible from the front: hour and minute dial, rotating in the center in 20-minute increments and a moon formed by a faceted spherical diamond (1 carat gemstone, 288 facets – Jacob & Co. exclusive patent), each on 2 axes Rotation every 60 seconds, Magnesium Painted Globe that rotates every 60 seconds on 2 axes, and Gravity Tourbillon cage that rotates on 3 axes: the first axis rotates in 60 seconds, the second axis rotates in 5 minutes , the third axis – the central axis rotates in 20 minutes. The tourbillon has the J&Co logo on its frame – a nice touch rather than spoiling the Aventurin background with words. What makes this possible is a patented differential gear system.

The dial is made of magnesium – an unusual choice for a dial, but it adds weight to the gear train and keeps everything in balance. Lacquered Roman numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o’clock. The hands are gunmetal blue, angled and polished. wholesale fashion watches

A hand-wound caliber exclusive to Jacob & Co. was created for this watch: JCAM10 – a three-axis gravity tourbillon with a flat hairspring. With a diameter of 40 mm and a height of 17.15 mm, the movement has 365 components, 42 jewels and an impressive power reserve of 60 hours (with a lower jump frequency: 21600 vibrations per hour or 3 Hz).

The finishes are, as expected, impressive: hand-beveled and polished plates and bridges, all with brushed sides, circular graining and polished gutters. The screw is polished, the barrel has a circular grain and the pinions used are conical. Bearings are 4 mechanical ball bearing units. The main material used is titanium – this makes the movement very strong, but also more difficult to manufacture as titanium is much harder than gold or steel.

The white 18K gold version has the same characteristics as the rose gold version, the only difference being the gold in the white. For those who prefer a little more flamboyance, there is the Astronomia Tourbillon Baguette. fake bugatti watch
