The Big Bang e FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ is the Gen3 connected watch in the Hublot collection, the highest performing and exciting Big Bang e to date. The newly designed dedicated football app features a larger, improved HD screen where every moment of the game will be captured.
From the countdown to the most anticipated moment of the World Cup, the FIFA World Cup™ final, Hublot will be at the heart of the action. Ahead of the game, the Big Bang e FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ will enter a countdown mode, recording the days leading up to the first match between Qatar and Ecuador on November 20. Then, 15 minutes before each game, the watch will provide team line-up and player information, so the wearer can enjoy the details from the comfort of their wrist.
When a match begins, the watch will automatically enter “match mode” and activate “timeline”, a feature built specifically for this watch that will help fans capture the most memorable and important moments in football.
Here’s how it works: On the outer edge of the dial there will be a five-part scale indicating the first and second half, the extra time allowed for each half, and the half time. If a goal is scored, the watch will display an animation of the match event mentioning the player’s name, and the football symbol will appear on the scale at the appropriate minute mark. The same thing happens if there is a yellow card, a red card or a penalty.
If the game goes beyond normal time, the watch display will automatically switch to overtime mode and then to penalty shootout mode again to prevent the game from going into a penalty shootout. Each penalty is recorded by a football with a green or red outline to indicate whether the attempt was successful or not. At any time during the race, the wearer can replay these events by scrolling across the dial using the watch’s crown. After five seconds of inactivity, the watch automatically switches to a “low power mode” to save battery power.
